Play in a Day - Teacher Feedback

The experience was a really positive one and thoroughly enjoyed by the children and audience alike. We were really pleased to help our talented actors excel in this way. The children found it to be a lot of fun and had a great time with some of their own input being used. We were proud of their work. There was a very relaxed but organised feel to the day. Elle was very friendly, professional and enthusiastic. The children involved were all keen, motivated and enthusiastic about their experience. The children knew their parts well and had obviously worked hard to produce the finished product. The audience really enjoyed it!

The children thoroughly enjoyed their drama day and surprised themselves that they remembered lines and had the confidence to perform. The drama workshops and scripts were pitched perfectly for the children and they had a brilliant day! It was great that they were able to perform to the school and their parents and they learnt lots more about the Olympics.

Diane, Whiteshill Primary School, Gloucestershire

The children learnt to use and apply new skills associated with drama and to work co-operatively with children they do not normally work with to produce an end product that they shared with their peers. We felt that it went a long way to raising the children's self-esteem and made them realise the importance of being an active listener. We were very impressed with the information that was supplied prior to our booking the work shop and how flexible the company was in meeting the needs of our school. Our instructor was able to identify the children who needed TLC and those who would be prepared to take on a more challenging role in the production as well as those who needed challenging to raise their self-esteem. She managed to engage with all the children and ensured all the children were active participants in the play.

Helen McGloin, Southville Junior School, London

The workshop far exceeded our expectations. The pupils were fully engaged throughout the day and the best of all the pupils was brought out during the day and during the play. The staff and parents were really pleased with the outcome. The play was thoroughly enjoyed by all.

Matt energised and entertained an entire key stage. He used a range of subjects including Literacy, History, popular culture, sport, teamwork and of course, drama. He was particularly effective with some of the Y6 children who might have been less enthusiastic following SATs. Matt was flexible and worked around the needs of our school. Matt came to our school loaded with ideas, energy and enthusiasm. This proved to be a contagious mix which inspired all the pupils across a very wide range of abilities. He got everyone working and brought out some brilliant performances from some unlikely places! His management of a large group of children was exemplary. We will certainly recommend Konflux and in particular Matt Driver to other schools.

Great fun, exciting, lots of information learned in the process of performing "A Play in a Day". Our children had a wonderful day working on their Olympics play, and the audience thoroughly enjoyed it too. Thank you Konflux.

The day was amazing; the girls were so motivated & enthusiastic. Carly was brilliant & knew exactly when to balance the play out with games. She was excellent with the girls and really encouraged them all the way. Really she got the best out of the girls possible so I was extremely impressed.

Joanna Richards, Halstead Preparatory School for Girls , Surrey

Thank you so much for Thursdays play in a day on the Olympics. Carly was fantastic. The students were all engaged throughout the rehearsal process and managed to achieve a superb performance in a very short space of time. We used the performance as a formal assessment for the students which will complement their BTEC in performing arts. Please pass on my thanks to Carly who really was superb and made the whole day run like clockwork. I look forward to working with konflux again in the future.

I am writing to say how successful our recent Play in a day workshop was. We chose the e-safety play as it fit in with current work going on in school. The children thoroughly enjoyed the day while learning vital e-safety information. This is active learning at its best and the perfect medium for this topic. The children loved performing the play for the other classes and their parents - who were also very impressed.

Please pass on our thanks to the workshop leader, who was professional and motivational.

We will definitely be booking you again in the future.

Kath Gleave, St Patrick's RC Primary School, Preston

This was an excellent experience for the children! They thoroughly enjoyed preparing the play and delighted in sharing it to their class teachers and head teacher!

Lynne Bowen-Jones, Oak Field Primary School, Barry

The workshop far exceeded our expectations. The pupils were fully engaged throughout the day and the best of all the pupils was brought out during the day and during the play. The staff and parents were really pleased with the outcome. The play was thoroughly enjoyed by all.

Anne Stead, Warley Town School, Halifax

'The director was upbeat, supportive, enthusiastic and knew how to talk to the children on their level. She taught small sections of the play in small chunks to enable the children to learn lines. She also taught them how to use their voice and bodies to make a better performance... After the event, the children are still asking when she can come back in and do more drama with them... Konflux get a BIG thumbs up and 10 out of 10 from Victoria Primary School!

Playinaday - Teacher Feedback from 2010/11

I am writing to thank you for the "Play in a Day" workshop your company ran for us yesterday. The practitioner, Sara, was outstanding - she was friendly, professional, had great behaviour management skills and a creative and effective way of working with young people. I can honestly say this is the first time in a long time that I have had a practitioner in school who genuinely is worth the money! The play that our students developed and performed was fantastic and enjoyed by all the year 9s and 10s who watched it and most importantly the performers were really proud of what they did.

Nicky Goulding, Accrington Academy, Lancashire

Initially, the workshop was not planned for my class and I was concerned that the content would not be suitable. However, Clem arrived and he had the whole class totally involved in the first few minutes.

When the children started learning the words and actions for the play, it was good to see the confidence levels rising and the whole class were committed. They supported each other throughout the day. They enjoyed performing their play in front of several classes and received loud applause for their effort. It was a long but rewarding day.

A big 'thank you' to Clem who related well to all the children and he never lost his sense of humour throughout the day!

Pauline Hilary, Thomas Walling Primary School, Newcastle upon Tyne

Today's Play in a Day was a fantastic experience. All the children were involved, even the hard to reach ones who would normally find it difficult to become involved in something of this nature.

Janice Reynolds, Newburgh Primary School, Lancashire

Wow what a brilliant day my class had with Matt. He was fantastic and such a good teacher, keeping the class engaged all day. His manner and enthusiasm kept them on task which in turn, prevented any issues with behaviour.

Our topic at the moment is ancient Egypt, so this play really fitted in with what we are doing. I was especially impressed with the way he involved the quieter children in the play, they all had parts and words to say. The children left the day feeling that they had achieved something of value and in the process also had a lot of fun. The rest of the school were also impressed by the finished result.

Tracey Kay, Wharrier Street Primary School, Newcastle upon Tyne

Our students found the workshop stimulating and engaging. They were encouraged to develop their skills and their confidence developed visibly during the session. They delivered the messages within the play in a clear and entertaining way and enjoyed working as a team. Their year group also really enjoyed watching their peers perform.
