Get Crafty this Halloween

Although the kids might be back at school for Halloween this year, that doesn't mean you can't have some Halloween themed fun at home this half term. We have gathered together our favourite Halloween crafts for you to try at home!!

Toilet Roll Characters

Why not reuse your toilet paper roll tubes and decorate them in to your favourite Halloween characters?! You can do this using simple craft equiptment such as coloured paper, glue, googly eyes and anything else you can think of!

Potato Stamp Ghosts

All you need for this craft is a potato, black paper and some white paint. Simply cut off the bottom of the potato to make a flat edge, dip it in some white paint and stamp it on to the black paper. Why not add some eyes and mouths to your ghosts too?!

Halloween Slime!

We know kids love Slime! Make it extra special and add some Halloween magic your lsime this year. You will need:

  • 2 (5 oz) bottles of clear school glue
  • 10 oz water
  • 8 oz liquid starch
  • 1/4 cup glitter
  • 1/4 cup Halloween spider confetti or tiny plastic spiders

In a bowl pour out the entire contents of both bottles of glue.Add the water to the glue.Add the glitter and confetti spiders and stir it all up.Slowly add about half the starch to the concoction and stir.  If there is still some liquid, add about half of what is left of the starch and keep stirring.Once it’s too thick to stir, then start kneading the slime with your hands to work any excess water into it, so that it’s no longer sticky.

And there you have it! Your very own Halloween slime! You can find out more about this reciepe here!

Paper Plate Pumpkin

Turn an ordinary plate in to a scary (or funny) pumpkin with some simple paint or crayons this year. Simply cover the paper plate in Orange paint, crayons or paper. Then add the facial features such as eyes, mouth, nose and of course the stem!

We hope you enjoy your half term, may it be full of Halloween fun!
