Let's Talk Science!

It’s a jam packed week for all things Science! It’s officially British Science Week AND did you know it's Albert Einstein’s birthday too?
What a perfect week to delve into inventors, experiments and even space!

Albert Einstein

Albert Einstein was a German-born physicist who developed the special and general theories of relativity and won the Nobel Prize for Physics in 1921 for his explanation of the photoelectric effect. Einstein is generally considered the most influential physicist of the 20th century.

Most Popular Invention

While you could argue, that the internet is modern day’s most popular invention, we wanted to take a look at a popular historical invention – electricity and the lightbulb!

The invention and development of the lightbulb/electricity was a collaborative process, with a culmination of inventors discovering and establishing electricity as we know it today.

It’s a fascinating story, we would recommend making a cup of tea and researching the history of this!...

A Discovery that Changed the World

Gravity - Isaac Newton seeing an apple fall from a tree did spark an idea that would lead the mathematician and physicist to discover gravity at the age of just 23.

He pondered about how the force pulls objects straight to the ground, as opposed to following a curved path, like a fired cannonball. Gravity was the answer — a force that pulls objects toward each other.

Most fascinating fact about Space!

Did you know one million Earths could fit inside the Sun? AND the Sun is considered an average-size star? Mind-blowing!

British Science Week is a ten-day celebration of science, technology, engineering and maths that will take place between 6-15 March 2026!
